4 Things That Will Help You Overcome Mediocrity And Step Over The Top

LIKE YOU may be aware, our world is dominated by people who are inured to leading average lives and completely have no idea what it means to scale great heights. In view of this, I want to share with you 4 habits that you should start incorporating into your daily life to put things in perspective.

1). PURSUE A PASSION. Until you have figured out what drives you and be fully committed to it, you may hardly know the true essence of self-actualization. It doesn’t matter if you’re passionate about playing guitar or working the field of souls, put your entire life into it. This passion will make you go places.

2). USE YOUR COMMON SENSE. What’s the one thing most of us are guilty of?
Not using our common sense in practical terms. We want to enjoy wealth and abundance, yet we don't give. We want to escape the rat race, yet we spend more than we earn. We want to be great leaders, yet we don't know how to respect people's time.
Put yourself into a mind-frame where your life follows a logical sequence. That's the whole idea of common sense.

3). INVEST IN EDUCATION AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT. You’re not going to experience any significant progress in your life if you have limited view of the world. So broaden your horizon. Read books. Travel. Take short courses. Ask relevant questions. Learn a new skill. Make an effort each day to put yourself into at least one constructive situation where you have to learn something new.

4). BUILD A NETWORK OF COUNSELORS. Connect with people who have what it takes to put your life in shape. You can call them accountability partners, disciplers, coaches, mentors, role models...whatever. At the end of the day, your 'network of counselors' has a huge effect on your personal accomplishments.

Have an amazing day!

Ignite Your Creativity

Your life is like an ongoing work of art. The canvas of your life begins with your family; and your experiences, setbacks, and triumphs play a part in forming who you become. And as long as you live, your life will continue to be a form of artistic creation. Creativity is often narrowly defined by creative works, such as books, paintings, and music. But creativity encompasses so much more than the works we create. Living a creative life also involves the thought, energy, and time we devote to problem-solving and creating the life we’ve been given to live. So stop delineating creativity only along aesthetic lines. Get out of your comfort zone and find solution to problems. Reflect on ways of adding value to human existence. Stop complaining about issues and start innovating. Develop new ideas. Implement new processes. Devise new methods of doing things or making things work. When you get stuck, get out of your work space and go for a walk. Leverage synergy where practicable. Your crea...

One Word That Can Change Your Life...Starting Now!

There's a well-known saying by Mike Tyson, "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face." This is when reality sinks in and you have to deal with the present situation you find yourself. There's a word that can transform your life no matter the drama that seems to characterize your existence, if you wholeheartedly embrace its meaning. That word is DETERMINATION. There's nothing more powerful than a determined person. Determination here implies firmness of purpose or the tendency to move in a certain direction. The determined individual always ends up getting what he wants from life. Here's your 5-step plan to be determined: Choose only a few important goals and stick to them. Cultivate the habit of writing your goals...say daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly, etc Stop being idle or busy doing the wrong thing. Welcome each day with renewed effort to unleash your potentials and pursue your dreams. Walk straight with your head u...

Focus On The First Step

If you ask me if success in life is easy to come by, I'll simply tell you the obvious: NO! But if you focus on the first step of whatever you want to achieve, the most difficult part would have been taken care of. Here is an interesting story to buttress my point. One day, I was at a camp meeting and I met this aspiring writer. I asked him how his book was coming along. "I didn't really getting started… I'm not sure my stuff will be good enough…" He was so insecure about his writing that he didn't even START writing anything. It's hard to become good at something you don't practice. I just explained to him that what really matters is taking the first step. The first step is really all that matters. If you can be the man or woman who always takes the first step, you become a force of nature. That's a really counter-intuitive secret to success. Every success I've had in my life was created because I took this first step. ...
