Download The Science of Being Great by Wallace D. Wattles

The Science Of Being Great by Wallace D. Wattles is one book I recently read and I've not been able to recover from its tremendous impact. As a matter of fact, no words can describe the incredible wisdom found on the pages of the book better than the words of the author himself:

“This book is for the men arid women, young or old, who wish to make the most of life by making the most of themselves. I have tried to show plainly, simply, and without unnecessary words, the way to power and capability; it is written so that he who runs may read. I know that the system herein set forth will work; it cannot fail. And I know that the men and women who practice these methods of action with sincere hearts will enter into the powerful life; they will be the children of the Highest, and stand among the great ones of the world. I hope you who read this will be among them… No mere reading of books can develop a great personality; nothing can make you great but thought; therefore think, Think, THINK”

This book was written almost 100 years ago, but it still inspires today. Wattles notes that, "When awakened, man becomes a son of the Highest and all power is given to him in heaven and on earth." He notes you can become what you want to be by virtue of your thoughts.

He also explains that wisdom is the essential basis of greatness and that man can receive wisdom from God. He includes an entire chapter on a mental exercise that helps you to connect with God and thus realize your highest potential.

One concept that particularly changed my perspective is his submission that to become "great," you must start by doing small things in great ways. So he says to begin today to be great in your own home and office...in all relations, be just, generous, courteous and kind. When you begin to do even small things in a great way, you will eventually be able to do bigger things in a great way. Your habit of deliberately thinking and acting in the best way you know how will cause you to continually grow until you become a great person.

This is a very quick read, but a very inspiring one. I would recommend it to anyone who aspires to be a better person.

Why Success Has Nothing To Do With Luck

What you believe has a tremendous impact on how well you can deal with the challenges of life. As a matter of fact, I believe that your belief system is the single most important factor in your success and happiness. In the course of my life, I held onto 4 beliefs that helped me through tough challenges. They helped me turn around my finances, faith, career, and interpersonal relationships. Here they are: 1. EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON AND A PURPOSE TO SERVE ME This is the belief that helped me find the opportunities and the gift even in the face of adversity. 2. WHAT DOESN'T KILL ME MAKES ME STRONGER This is the belief that gets me going when I'm sad or hurt. I've scaled through moments of depression with the help of this belief. 3. I HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR, BUT FEAR ITSELF This is the belief that I repeat to myself every time I want to do something that scares me. This one is extremely liberating once you internalize it. What would you do wit...

Ignite Your Creativity

Your life is like an ongoing work of art. The canvas of your life begins with your family; and your experiences, setbacks, and triumphs play a part in forming who you become. And as long as you live, your life will continue to be a form of artistic creation. Creativity is often narrowly defined by creative works, such as books, paintings, and music. But creativity encompasses so much more than the works we create. Living a creative life also involves the thought, energy, and time we devote to problem-solving and creating the life we’ve been given to live. So stop delineating creativity only along aesthetic lines. Get out of your comfort zone and find solution to problems. Reflect on ways of adding value to human existence. Stop complaining about issues and start innovating. Develop new ideas. Implement new processes. Devise new methods of doing things or making things work. When you get stuck, get out of your work space and go for a walk. Leverage synergy where practicable. Your crea...

One Word That Can Change Your Life...Starting Now!

There's a well-known saying by Mike Tyson, "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face." This is when reality sinks in and you have to deal with the present situation you find yourself. There's a word that can transform your life no matter the drama that seems to characterize your existence, if you wholeheartedly embrace its meaning. That word is DETERMINATION. There's nothing more powerful than a determined person. Determination here implies firmness of purpose or the tendency to move in a certain direction. The determined individual always ends up getting what he wants from life. Here's your 5-step plan to be determined: Choose only a few important goals and stick to them. Cultivate the habit of writing your goals...say daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly, etc Stop being idle or busy doing the wrong thing. Welcome each day with renewed effort to unleash your potentials and pursue your dreams. Walk straight with your head u...
